Vilnius will establish innovation industrial park: 1,000 highly qualified jobs will be created

Today, Vilnius City Council approved the proposal to establish Vilnius City Innovation Industrial Park. The new industrial park will be established near Nemenčinė highway in Vismaliukai, the territory of the former military training ground. Production companies that create well-paid jobs and develop high value-added technologies will be invited to establish in this park.

It is expected that another industrial park will be established in Pagiriai in the near future. Possibilities to implement a similar project near Vilnius Airport (Kuprioniškės) are being considered. These steps will help to implement the sustainable development of industrial activities in Vilnius.

Vilnius has an opportunity to attract investments that other Lithuanian cities cannot. Therefore, the capital’s industrial parks are adapted to this type of activity, which requires highly qualified specialists, international teams. At present, such potential is not fully exploited in Lithuania. With the help of Vilnius resources in the field of attracting high value-added production, the whole country will benefit. Proper use of the knowledge potential of Vilnius city economy would increase wages, demand for services, quality, and more revenue would be collected in the city budget.
