The Vismaliukai innovative investment zone near Vilnius will be granted the status of an industrial park
24th January, 2018 meeting of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania decided to grant the status of an industrial park to the Vismaliukai investment innovation zone near Vilnius.
The resolution on granting the status of an industrial park to the territory of Vismaliukai was presented at the Government meeting by Virginijus Sinkevičius, Minister of Economy. The ministry under his leadership says that by granting this status, the park operator will be able to lease parts of the land to investors.
The industrial park in the territory of the former Kairenai landfill on the outskirts of Vilnius will be developed by the forces of the public institution Northtown Technology Park managed by the Ministry of Economy and Vilnius Municipality. The new industrial park is planned to attract more than 7 million Eur investment by 2022, and create at least a thousand jobs.
In 2015 the government has already recognized the Vismaliukai investment zone as an important economic project for the state.
