Possibilities for the growth of Lithuanian life sciences sector were discussed
Today, during the meeting held at the VU Life Sciences Center, the partnership between the VU Life Sciences Center and the Vilnius City Innovation Industrial Park was presented to the Chancellor of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania Algirdas Stončaitis and the Government team.
During the visit, the main focus was on the discussion about the possibilities to encourage young talents to create new companies, to commercialize the discoveries of Lithuanian scientists important for the biomedical and biopharmaceutical industry.
“At the initiative of this Government, for the life sciences industry by 2030 to generate 5% of the country’s GDP, we have not only the recognition that we clearly understand our country’s leadership and potential to grow this sector, but also the challenge. Understandably, certain conditions are necessary for faster growth – and the sooner we agree on them, the sooner we will be able to enjoy the results, ”said Chancellor Algirdas Stončaitis during the official visit to the VU Life Sciences Center and assured that the government‘s decisions will encourage catalyzation of the growth of our life sciences industry.
