“Biogami”, owner of the “Mamuko” brand, starts its establishment at Vilnius City Innovation Industrial Park

JSC Biogami, the company behind the well-known organic baby and children’s food brand Mamuko, is set to begin operations at the Vilnius City Innovation Industrial Park (VCIIP). Certified and recognized as a market leader in Lithuania, Biogami offers 26 types of organic grain-based, vegetable, and fruit products developed in consultation with pediatricians and child nutrition experts. The company currently holds 60% of Lithuania’s organic children’s cereal market and exports its products to over 15 countries worldwide.
The agreement between Biogami and VCIIP operator Northtown Vilnius outlines the company’s plans to expand its production capacity and integrate modern technologies. These developments aim to increase the competitiveness and international supply of its unique organic products for babies and children, as well as to support the development of new food supplements and pharmaceutical products for both infants and adults.
By early 2028, Biogami plans to invest over €7 million into R&D and manufacturing infrastructure at VCIIP, ensuring production processes that meet the global BRC food safety standard.
“The global market for organic products is growing by roughly 10% annually. We’re no strangers to this sector – over the past decade, we’ve established a solid presence in Lithuania, and our products are gaining increasing recognition abroad. Along the way, we’ve also cultivated a deep commitment to production quality, which is essential in baby food manufacturing due to its particularly stringent requirements,” said Biogami CEO Šarūnas Stumbrys. “We’ve also identified new needs in the market that our upcoming product lines can address. Naturally, this growth and expansion call for a new home.”
According to Stumbrys, the core of the VCIIP project will be the development of new production and technological capabilities, including a laboratory dedicated to raw material evaluation. These resources will enable smoother scaling while ensuring high product quality, safety, and hygiene standards—and will provide a strong foundation for developing new products.
Dr. Gediminas Pauliukevičius, head of VCIIP operator Northtown Vilnius, described Biogami as a strong innovator offering distinctive products to its customers, with unquestionable potential for international market growth. “We are pleased that Biogami has chosen to join the VCIIP community, alongside other market leaders in related fields who are developing globally competitive products,” said Pauliukevičius.
To date, 22 companies have either established or begun operations at VCIIP, focusing on fields such as life sciences, advanced manufacturing processes, materials and technologies, energy, and environmental sustainability.
JSC Biogami is the eleventh life sciences company to expand its operations at the Vilnius City Innovation Industrial Park (VCIIP), joining a growing community that includes biotechnology firms such as Biotecha, BioProcess Solutions, CMB Medicina, Domus Naturae, Experimentica, Gensinta, Imunodiagnostika, Stem Cell Research Center, Pentasweet, and Sanobiotec. VCIIP is also home to six industry clusters, four of which are dedicated to the life sciences sector.
